DESCRIPTION:\n\n\n\n\nJennifer Williams\, PhD Candidate\, McMaster Univer
 sity\nPresentation Title: Hormonal contraceptives and Early Risk indicato
 rs for cardiovascular disease in women: the HER Study\n\nJennifer Williams
  is a PhD candidate in the Department of Kinesiology at McMaster Universit
 y\, with a prior MSc degree from Queen’s University. She has previously 
 studied the impact of acute hyperglycemia on vascular function in healthy 
 men and women\, across the menstrual cycle. She is currently a graduate tr
 ainee in the Vascular Dynamics Lab\, supervised by Dr. Maureen MacDonald. 
 Her present PhD research focuses on the short- and long-term impact of hor
 monal contraceptives on cardiovascular and metabolic indicators in women. 
 Committed to the advancement of women in STEM\, Jennifer is a VP of the Wo
 men in Science and Engineering\, coordinating mentorship opportunities for
  undergraduate\, graduate\, and Faculty members at McMaster. Jennifer is a
 lso a graduate trainee with CIHR’s Institute of Gender and Health and ha
 s recently been involved in starting a sex and gender in health research n
 etwork at McMaster. She is excited to share her current PhD research study
  progress and hear of other women’s health research from WHRC members.\n

 od\, I just finished my undergrad in Life Sciences at McMaster University.
  I am doing research at the Vascular Dynamics Laboratory under the supervi
 sion of Dr. Maureen MacDonald\, where we specialize in looking at arterial

 esentation Title: Comparing Visual Attention Patterns in Women With and W
 ithout Sexual Concerns\n\nI am a study coordinator at the UBC Sexual Healt
 h Research Lab. My area of research focuses on examining women's sexual dy
 sfunction and neurocognition using eye tracking methodology.\n\n\n\n\nAlex

 Cardiac Outcomes of Menopausal Women Prescribed Concurrent Hormonal and St
 atin Combinations Regiments in British Columbia\n\nAlexandra Lukey is a gr
 aduate student at UBC Okangan School of Nursing. She is also currently a p
 racticing Registered Nurse at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. Alexandr
 a has been involved in research of varied topics including atrial fibrilla
 tion patient care transitions and primary healthcare reform through team-b
 ased care. Alexandra's master’s thesis is focusing on exploring heart fa
 ilure patient self care through technology. Alex also works in advocacy fo
 r women’s health as a board member of the Kelowna and District Pro-Choic
 e Society.\n\n\n\n\nSadaf Sediqi\,Undergraduate student\, UBC\nPresentatio
 n Title: Associations between IL-1β and deep dyspareunia in nerve bundle
  growth in endometriosis: A pilot study\n\nSadaf is an undergraduate stude
 nt in the Pelvic Pain and Endometriosis Lab supervised by Dr. Paul Yong. H
 er research interests explore the symptoms of endometriosis-associated pai
 n affecting women’s health.\n\n\n\n\nTristan Joshua Phillipe\, PhD Cand
 idate\, UBC\nPresentation Title: Sex differences in basal and stress rela
 ted core body temperature in the rat\n\nTristan Philippe\, PhD(c) and IMH 
 Marshal Scholar\, Viau Lab\, Department of Cellular &amp\; Physiological S
 ciences\, UBC. I study sex differences in stress\, anxiety and depression 
 with various tools including RNAseq\, bioinformatics\, tissue staining\, p
 harmacology\, temperature\, behaviour and various gene manipulations in th
