SUMMARY:Sex Differences in Acute Coronary Syndromes
DESCRIPTION:\n\nDr. Karin Humphries is an Associate Professor in the Fac
 ulty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia and holds the UBC-H
 eart and Stroke Foundation Professorship in Women’s Cardiovascular Healt
 h.\n\nShe has a doctoral degree in epidemiology and a background in bioche
 mistry\, kinesiology\, and experimental pathology. Her primary research fo
 cus is on sex and gender differences in the diagnosis\, treatment\, and ou
 tcomes in subjects with coronary artery disease. Dr. Humphries is currentl
 y investigating the treatment and outcomes of patients with chest pain\, b
 ut angiographically normal coronaries.\n\nDr. Humphries is also the inaugu
 ral Scientific Director of the BC Centre for Improved Cardiovascular Healt
 h (ICVHealth). In this role\, she is committed to improving health outcome
 s for British Columbians at risk for\, or living with\, cardiovascular dis
 ease by generating and applying new evidence to improve the delivery of ca
 rdiovascular care in the province.\n\n&nbsp\;
