DESCRIPTION:\n\nSeminar Title: Intergenerational Transmission of Domestic 
 Violence and Gender: Walking in Their Footsteps\nPresenter: Dr. Nisha Mal
 hotra\, Faculty member\, Vancouver School of Economics\, UBC\n\nDr. Malh
 otra's work is that of an inter-disciplinary social scientist with a stron
 g interest in questions related to Development\, Gender and Global Health.
  Her recent work focuses on gender based violence and socio-economic deter
 minants of health related behaviour (mostly in South Asia). Her current re
 search examines the gender differences in risky behaviour with respect to 
 HIV transmission in Zambia\, and domestic violence within consanguineous m
 arriages in Pakistan.\n\nShe has worked with International organizations l
 ike the World Bank (Washington DC)\, Asia Pacific Foundation (Vancouver)\,
  and the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (
 New Delhi). She has published in health\, economics and social policy jour
 nals such as the Public Health Nutrtition\, the Canadian Journal of Econo
 mics\, and Canadian Public Policy.\n\nNisha Malhotra holds a Ph.D. in ec
 onomics from University of Maryland (College Park)\, and is a faculty memb
 er in the vancouver school of economics at UBC. She grew up in Thailand\, 
 England and India and now resides in Canada with her family.\n\n&nbsp\;
