University of Calgary\nPresentation Title: Quality of Life in Patients Li
ving with Kidney Failure Initiating Incremental or Conventional Hemodialys
is\, by Sex and Gender\n\nBio: Victoria graduated from Mount Royal Univer
sity in 2020 with a Bachelor of Nursing\, she then obtained her Registered
Nurse licence. Currently\, Victoria is a first year MSc student in Dr. So
fia Ahmed’s lab at the University of Calgary.\n\n\n\n\nChantal Rytz\, MS

ar Implications of Gender-affirming Hormone Therapy in Transgender Adults\
 n\nBio: Chantal is a born and raised Calgarian\, and\, after receiving a
Bachelor of Science in Medical Biochemistry from UBC in 2016\, returned to
Calgary to complete a Master of Science in Cardiovascular and Respiratory
Sciences in 2019. Her work was nominated for a University of Calgary Grad
uate Medal and a Western Association of Graduate Schools (WAGS) Distinguis
hed Master’s Thesis Award in STEM. Chantal continued her studies and beg
an a PhD in Fall 2020 at the University of Calgary with Dr. Sofia Ahmed\,
assessing the cardiovascular health of transgender individuals\, particula
rly with respect to the use of gender-affirming hormone therapy and its ro

spare time\, Chantal enjoys doing anything outdoors\, and is an avid downh
 ill skier\, mountain biker\, hiker\, and fly fisher\n\n\n\n\nAntonio Flori

ment of Psychobiology and Methodology of Health Sciences\, Autonomous Univ
ersity of Barcelona\nPresentation Title: Opposite-sex effects of the Tac2
pathway blockade in fear memory consolidation: implications for fear rela
ted disorders\n\n@AntonioLFlorido\n\nBio: I obtained my Psychology deg
ree in 2014 and a Master’s degree in Psychopharmacology in 2015 from the
University of Almeria (Spain). From 2016 to 2017 I participated in the cr

, Autonomous University of Barcelona. Since the beginning of 2017 I am a P
hD student under the supervision of De. Raül Andero.\n\nMy research inter
ests are sex differences in the Tac2 pathway when modulating normal and pa
thological fear memory consolidation in mice. These studies are combined w
ith in vivo calcium imaging in freeling moving mice. I am also interested
in the mechanisms by which sex hormones influence the formation of new fea
r memories and sex-especific mechanisms supporting fear and stress-related
pathology in women and men.\n\n\n\n\nJennifer Williams\, PhD Candidate\,
McMaster University\, Vascular Dynamics Lab\nPresentation Title: Oral con
traceptive hormones and the vascular endothelial nitric oxide pathway\n\n@
jennyswilliams\n\nBio: Jennifer Williams is a PhD Candidate in the Depart
ment of Kinesiology at McMaster University. Her present research focuses o
n the short- and long-term impact of hormonal contraceptives on cardiovasc
ular and metabolic indicators in females\, and she has recently pivoted he
r research to look at underlying mechanisms of contraceptive hormones in v
ascular endothelial cells. Committed to the advancement of women in STEM\,
Jennifer volunteers with the McMaster Women in Science and Engineering gr
oup and is a graduate trainee with the CIHR Institute of Gender and Health
\, and is involved in starting-up a sex and gender in health research netw
ork at McMaster. She is excited to share her current PhD research progress
and hear of other women's health research from WHRC trainees.\n\n\n\n\nLa
 ra Radovic\, BSc. (Hon) Student\, Behavioural Neuroscience\, University o
f British Columbia\nPresentation Title: Exploring Links Between Body Imag
e Self-Consciousness and Sexual Function Problems in Pregnant Couples\n\nB
io: Lara is currently completing her Honours Bachelor of Science in Behav
ioural Neuroscience at UBC\, and is excited to be conducting her undergrad
uate thesis at the SWELL Lab. She is interested in fields intersecting psy
 chology\, neuroscience\, endocrinology\, and women’s health. She aspires
to investigate historically understudied topics in psychiatric and medica
l research\, such as sex differences and sexuality\, birth control\, pregn
 ancy/postpartum periods\, nutrition\, eating disorders\, and hormone imbal
 ance\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\nFor more information\, please contact Trainee Co-le
