 ee\n\n\n\nThe Women's Brain Health Initiative Trainee-Mentor Sessions inte
 nd to provide students with the opportunity to meet and engage with sex an
 d gender experts through informal conversations on diverse topics includin
 g professional development and research. To ensure an intimate and valuabl
 e experience\, each Trainee-Mentor session will be limited to 30 registran
 ts.\n\nPlease note that these sessions are for registrants of the Women's
  Brain Health Conference (2020-2021). If you have not registered for the c
 onference\, you may do so here before you register for the session(s) yo
 u would like to attend.\n\n\n\nHave you wanted to test both sexes in your 
 studies but are unsure how to get started and properly design your experim
 ents? Dr. Karyn Frick will discuss some methodological considerations for 
 studying both male and female rodents\, and relate how she started studyin
 g the effects of sex and sex steroid hormones on memory.\n\nDr. Frick is a
  Distinguished Professor of Psychology at the University of Wisconsin-Milw
 aukee and the Chief Scientific Officer of Estrigenix Therapeutics\, Inc. D
 r. Frick has nearly 30 years of experience studying the neurobiological m
 echanisms underlying memory formation\, with a particular focus on the cel
 lular and molecular mechanisms through which estrogens regulate memory c
 onsolidation. She has published nearly 90 papers in leading neuroscience 
 and neuroendocrinology journals and is the editor of the book "Estrogens 
 and Memory: Basic Research and Clinical Implications” published by Oxfor
 d University Press in 2020. She is a recipient of the Society for Women
 ’s Health Research/Medtronic Prize for Scientific Contributions to Women
 ’s Health and the Alzheimer’s Association of Southeastern WI Investig
 ator of the Year.\n\n&nbsp\;
