 al\n\nDr. Angela Jerath: The evaluation of health care delivery models is
  essential to enhancing patient safety\, improving health outcomes and cre
 ating innovative models of care delivery. Dr. Angela Jerath’s academic r
 esearch is focused on the analysis and evaluation of postoperative care an
 d critical care models in cardiac and complex non-cardiac surgical patient
 s using different research methods and technologies. Her rese​arch has r
 eceived funding support from the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society (CA
 S)\, Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada (HSFC)\, and Canadian Institute
  of Health Research (CIHR). Dr. Jerath works as a cardiac anesthesiologist
  and trained cardiovascular intensivist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Cent
 re. She has undertaken specialty and sub-specialty training across 4 count
 ries and has a Master's in clinical epidemiology from Institute of Health 
 Policy\, Management &amp\; Evaluation at the University of Toronto.\n\nDr.
  Christopher Wallis: Christopher J.D. Wallis is a Urologic Oncologist at 
 the University of Toronto and Mount Sinai Hospital/University Health Netwo
 rk. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine from the University of British Colu
 mbia and his Doctor of Philosophy in Clinical Epidemiology &amp\; Health C
 are Research from the Institute of Health Policy\, Management &amp\; Evalu
 ation at the University of Toronto and completed his clinical residency in
  Urology at the University of Toronto affiliated hospitals and his Society
  of Urologic Oncology accredited fellowship training at Vanderbilt Univers
 ity Medical Center. His research focuses on leveraging a variety of epidem
 iologic techniques to understand the interaction between processes of care
  and patient outcomes\, with a particular focus on patients with cancer an
 d those undergoing surgery. Recently\, his work has focused heavily on und
 erstanding the interplay between physician characteristics and patients’
  operative outcomes.\n\nTalk Summary: Sociocultural constructs of patient
 s and their treating surgeon are likely to significantly impact patient su
 rvival and recovery after surgery.  This talk will explore the intersecti
 on of physician sex and age with patient sex on outcomes after common and
