 rs in your field. This workshop will teach you the key skills you need to 
 succeed as an academic Tweeter\, including:\n\n 	The basics of Twitter –
  tweeting\, mentions\, likes\,\n 	How to develop a following\n 	Networking
  on Twitter\n 	Finding a balance on Twitter (professional/personal presenc
 e)\n 	UBC policies (engaging in conversations on Twitter\, etc.)\n\nLearni
 ng Outcomes:\n\n 	How to communicate your research to a broader audience u
 sing Twitter\n 	How to develop key messages for tweeting and retweeting (E
 x. Live-tweeting at conferences/events)\n 	When to engage (or not) in cont
 roversial conversations/topics on twitter\n 	How to network effectively on
  Twitter\n\nWorkshop Facilitators:\n\n 	Melissa Nelson\, Communications A
 ssistant\, WHRI\n\nMelissa has been working as the Communications Assistan
 t at the Women’s Health Research Institute (WHRI) since September 2017. 
 In this position she helps manage WHRI’s social media channels\, writes 
 and curates content for their website and monthly eBlast\, and provides su
 pport for various communications needs. She managed social media and creat
 ed content for the MSFHR-funded #ItsNotInYourHead campaign\, and is curren
 tly a team member on the MSFHR-funded #DebunkingDesire campaign. Melissa h
 as a keen interest in social media and its potential as a tool for social 
 change\, and enjoys seeking new ways to leverage these platforms to raise 
 awareness about women’s health issues.\n\n 	Nicole Prestley\, Manager\
