DESCRIPTION:﻿\nJOIN US FOR A RESEARCH DAY FOCUSED ON THE FUTURE OF HEALTH
 \nDiscover various research activities conducted by students and trainees 
 from some of UBC’s Research Excellence Clusters. Students from the Data
  Science and Health\, Women's Health and Biomedical Imaging and AI clu
 sters will present posters that address the Future of Health.\n\nJoin us f
 or a virtual morning of multi-disciplinary exploration as our students ad
 dress pressing questions around the future of health.\n\nThe day will incl
 ude:\n\n 	Virtual Poster presentations exhibiting students’ work\n 	Virt
 ual Lightning-Round presentations by the top 10 abstracts\n 	Brainstorming
  Session for collaborative team grants\n\nWhy should you participate?\n\n
 The goal of our Tri-Cluster Research Day is to provide a setting for facul
 ty and students to identify current research projects that relate to their
  work and facilitate the co-creation of new research ideas.\n\nResearch 
 Day will:\n\n 	Provide an opportunity for you to explain your research and
  gain valuable feedback\;\n 	Hone your skills in writing an abstract and s
 trengthen your presentation skills\;\n 	Give you a chance to practice comm
 unicating your research to a diverse group of people\;\n 	Let you meet pot
 ential collaborators and network with peers.\n\nPresentations\n\nAbstracts
  will be judged by professors from all three clusters. The top 10 will be 
 invited to present their research in a 5-minute lightning talk. Abstracts 
 are due October 24th\, and successful applicants will be notified by Novem

 eview and score submitted abstracts prior to Research Day. The top 10 sc
 ores will be invited to present a 5-minute 'lightning talk'.\n\nPreparing 
 Your Abstract\n\n 	Prepare an abstract of no more than 250 words.\n 	Provi
 de two keywords for your abstract.\n\nRound One: Abstract Review &amp\; Sc
 oring\n\nAbstract judging will take place prior to Research Day. Abstracts
  are due October 24th\, and successful applicants will be notified by Nove
 mber 12th\, 2021.\n\nThe top 10 scores will have the opportunity to presen
 t their poster to the judges at Research Day for prizes totaling $225.\n\n
 Round Two: Poster Presentations &amp\; Lightning Round Presentations\n\nA
 ll students will have the opportunity to present their posters virtually t
 hrough Slack and Zoom. All students presenting their posters are eligible
  for the People’s Choice Award category.\n\nStudents with qualifying abs
 tract scores (top 10) will present their research to the judges during th
 e Lightning Round Presentation. Each student will be allowed a five-minut
 e virtual presentation on their research poster to a panel of judges.\n\nS
 tudent Awards\n\nThe Best Student Presentation competition will honor the
  top three 'lightning talk' presentations at Research Day.\n\nFirst Plac
 e - $100\n\nSecond Place - $75\n\nThird Place - $50\n\nPeople's Choice Awa
 rd (Best Poster) - Two prizes worth $20\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;
