Dr. Ann-Christin Kimmig is a postdoctoral researcher in the DFG-funded International Research Training Group (IRTG 2804) “Women’s Mental Health Across the Reproductive Years”. She investigates using (f)MRI how hormonal transitions across the female lifespan shape brain plasticity, cognition, and emotion, aiming to improve prevention and treatment of affective, anxiety, and stress-related disorders. Her PhD research explored the neurobiological effects of oral contraceptive use on socio-affective functioning.
