Rajae Talbi

Dr. Rajae Talbi is a neuroscientist with a strong interest in neuroendocrinology and the interplay between the brain, hormones and behavior. She earned her PhD in the neurobiology of rhythms at the University of Strasbourg (France), followed by postdoctoral training at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and a research faculty appointment (Instructor) at Harvard Medical School (USA).

In July 2025, Dr. Talbi joined the University of Montreal (Canada) as Assistant Professor and Principal Investigator. Her research focuses on how the brain integrates metabolic and reproductive signals to maintain physiological balance. Specifically, her work examines how disruptions in energy balance, from undernutrition to obesity, impair reproductive function, and how reproductive hormones, in turn, shape metabolic outcomes.
As a female scientist, she is deeply committed to advancing women’s health by uncovering the brain pathways linking reproductive dysfunction and metabolic disturbances in conditions such as polycystic ovary syndrome, hypothalamic amenorrhea, and menopause.
