I am a postdoctoral fellow in Molecular Cardiology at the University of Guelph. My research is focused on women’s health, with particular emphasis on understanding how sex differences, ovarian aging, perimenopause, and menopause influence cardiovascular function and disease risk.
My work investigates the biological mechanisms connecting reproductive aging with heart health. I have contributed to studies examining cardiac changes associated with ovarian failure, sex-specific responses to cardiovascular stress, and the effects of perimenopause on heart function. I also co-authored a book chapter exploring the link between menopause and cardiovascular disease.
Alongside my research, I teach and mentor students in physiology, pathophysiology, cardiology, pharmacology, and nutrition. Through my research, teaching, and collaborative work, I am committed to improving the representation of women in biomedical research and advancing sex- and gender-informed approaches to the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of disease.
I recently received my first CIHR grant as a co-investigator, an important milestone that will support my continued involvement in collaborative women’s health research.
