Samantha Garay
I am a mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) researcher based in the DECIPHer centre at Cardiff University., with extensive experience of working with a wide variety of populations in a diverse range of settings. I currently work across a variety of research projects involving different teams including:
– Co-producing and conducting rapid evaluations of local authority public health interventions within the NIHR PHIRST Insight team
– Exploring school period provision using linked data, with the Women’s Health Research Centre in Cardiff University
– Evaluating a Breastfeeding Wales initiative with Public Health Wales
My areas of interest predominantly focus on women’s health, particularly in relating to Health Psychology, health behaviours, behaviour change and intervention evaluation. I also have an interest in co-production and PPIE.
I hold a BSc(Hons) Psychology degree and a MSc Health Psychology degree from the University of Bath. My PhD was undertaken at Cardiff University and involved working with a longitudinal birth cohort to investigate the influence of maternal health behaviours in pregnancy on maternal and infant health and development.
I will soon be enrolling on the Independent Route Qualification in Health Psychology (Stage 2) as a Trainee health Psychologist.
I am keen to collaborate with anyone with similar research interests.
