Elisabet Alzueta is a cognitive neuroscientist and clinical psychologist, and a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Almería (Spain), where she is building a research line on women’s health in menopause centred on sleep, mental health and brain fog. Her work sits at the intersection of brain function and women’s mental health, spanning sleep, sex hormones and cognition across sensitive life transitions such as motherhood and menopause. She completed her postdoc in Fiona Baker’s sleep laboratory at SRI International (California), coordinating NIH-funded projects on the role of sex hormones in sleep-dependent memory consolidation. She is currently developing a scale to assess menopausal brain fog. Alongside her academic work, she co-directs Coway, a multidisciplinary women’s health clinic in Almería.
