Francesca Farina

Dr Francesca Farina is a Research Assistant Professor in the Pritzker School of Medicine at the University of Chicago, and a Senior Fellow with the Global Brain Health Institute at Trinity College Dublin. A trained neuroscientist, Dr. Farina leads a dedicated line of research on women’s brain health with a particular focus on modifiable factors that influence risk for Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias. Her work emphasizes the importance of early detection, with a goal of identifying both risk and resilience factors that emerge during key life transitions, such as menopause. Beyond the lab, Dr. Farina works actively with patient advocacy groups and community-based organizations to promote brain health literacy and reduce stigma surrounding cognitive decline and neurodegenerative diseases. She is committed to advancing equitable, informed, and proactive approaches to brain health for all.
