Biomedical Science graduate from the University of Guelph, currently pursuing a Master of Clinical Science and Translational Medicine with a concentration in Pharmacology at the University of Ottawa. My academic and research trajectory has consistently centered on women’s health, with particular focus on microbiology, oncology, and women-specific disease pathogenesis. My current work focuses on the Gut/Urine microbial exchange as implicated in urinary tract infection (UTI) in women. Women are disproportionately burdened by UTIs and antibiotic resistance and microbiome dysbiosis are growing concerns. My work addresses this need for targeted alternatives to broad-spectrum antibiotics, in a women specific model.
