Jana Radosavljevic

Jana is a first-year Neuroscience MSc student at McMaster University. She previously completed her HBSc at the University of Toronto, specializing in Neuroscience, with a major in Psychology and a minor in Biology. Prior to starting her graduate studies, she worked in clinical research at SickKids on various projects investigating biomarkers in neuropsychiatric disorders. She is interested in understanding immune and inflammatory processes involved in mood disorders, particularly through conducting sex- and gender-based analyses (SGBA). Her MSc thesis aims to identify immune subtypes in depression and examine through an intersectional lens how immune subtypes relate to sex and gender-related sociodemographic variables (ethnicity, education, household income, marital and employment status). She is an advocate for women’s health and is passionate about precision medicine research that explores the diversity among men, women, and gender-diverse individuals to improve health outcomes for all.
