Kate Shannon
Dr. Shannon (she/her) is a Professor of Social Medicine and Associate Faculty in the School of Population and Public Health at the University of British Columbia. She holds an inaugural CIHR Sex and Gender Science Chair aimed at advancing more inclusive and equitable sexual health research, policy, practice. Her research interests focus on community-engaged research, social epidemiology, population health interventions and policy evaluation, and feminist intersectional approaches to equitable sexual health and reproductive care and justice, particularly among youth, sexual minority, migrant and refugee communities, and criminalized and unhoused populations.
