Katrina Wugalter

Katrina Wugalter is a graduate student in the Brain and Cognitive Sciences program in the Department of Psychology at the University of Illinois Chicago. She began her doctoral studies in 2022 under the mentorship of Dr Pauline Maki. Katrina is interested in characterizing patterns of brain functioning that support verbal memory performance in the postmenopause. In addition to this central focus, Katrina has studied the effects of Alzheimer’s disease risk factors and biomarkers (i.e., APOE4 gene carrier status, plasma amyloid and tau levels) on cognition and brain health in midlife women. She received her B.S. in Neuroscience and Psychology from the University of Toronto in 2021.
