Leanne Laur
Leanne is a grassroots women’s health advocate and lived-experience leader focused on bridging disability, mental health, and women’s healthcare gaps through practical, community-driven solutions.
Her advocacy began after her own cervical cancer journey and the challenges she faced navigating disability systems, mental health supports, and inconsistent care pathways. Instead of accepting those barriers, she turned her experience into a blueprint for change—developing initiatives that combine real-world patient insight with system-level thinking.
Leanne is the Co-founder of Power of the V: Sisters Rising Together, a grassroots initiative built around a simple truth: women heal better when emotional, mental, and community support stand alongside medical care. Her work highlights the importance of early intervention, mental health integration, family-based support models, and empowering women to maintain purpose even during illness and recovery.
She is currently developing broader frameworks that connect disability supports, youth mentorship, and women’s health advocacy, with a national vision for safer, more coordinated care. Her leadership approach is calm and practical.
Leanne brings a unique combination of compassion, policy awareness, and real-world determination to every project she leads. She is committed to ensuring that no woman feels overlooked, unheard, or unsupported while navigating the healthcare system.
