Rachel Ollivier
Dr. Rachel Ollivier holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UBC Okanagan (2016), a PhD in Nursing from Dalhousie University (2022), and a Primary Health Care Nurse Practitioner Diploma from Queen’s University (2023). She currently works as a full-time Nurse Practitioner and clinician scientist at BC Women’s Hospital + Health Centre, providing care to underserved populations in the areas of cardiac health and complex gynecology. She is also an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia and serves on the Board of Directors for both the Canadian Association of Perinatal & Women’s Health Nurses and Options for Sexual Health B.C, in addition to volunteering as a workshop speaker with Dress for Success Vancouver. Having lived in five cities over the past ten years, Dr. Ollivier’s reach is ever-growing as she develops and sustains strategic, collaborative connections across Canada. Besides having worked as a Registered Nurse in four provinces (AB, BC, ON, NS), she has also completed nursing rotations in Zambia (2016) and Tanzania (2018). Her research interests/expertise include sexual health after birth, global maternal health, feminist poststructuralism, and discourse analysis. She has spearheaded crucial conversations about postpartum sexual health through numerous podcasts and televised interviews, which have included appearances on CTV’s The Social and CTV News Ottawa.
