Selin Yildiz

Selin is a Political Science and Economics student at the University of British Columbia. Her academic and research interests center on health equity, health policy, and the social determinants of health, with a particular focus on women’s health and well-being. Selin has contributed to a national action plan advancing the sexual and reproductive health and rights of women living with HIV in Canada, where she supported literature and policy scans, evaluation framework development, and engagement with community partners. She has also worked on a scoping review examining global frameworks for health equity, as well as a comparative research project analyzing the relationship between women’s political participation and gendered health outcomes across multiple countries.

Through these experiences, Selin has developed skills in policy and literature analysis, qualitative synthesis, evaluation design, and stakeholder engagement. She is passionate about connecting research to action and hopes to contribute to initiatives that reduce health inequities and strengthen women’s health policy both in Canada and globally.
