Sesina Issak
Sesina Issak is an undergraduate researcher at York University completing a Specialized Honours degree in Cognitive Science with a specialization in Psychology. Her research interests sit at the intersection of mental health, equity, and community wellbeing. She has worked as a Research Assistant at the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness, where she translated peer-reviewed research on youth homelessness into accessible knowledge for community organizations and policymakers, with a focus on Black, Indigenous, and 2SLGBTQ+ youth. She also holds a Dean’s Award for Research Excellence (DARE) for independent research on identity and post-conflict futures. She is currently a Research Assistant at York University’s Accessible Transportation & Technology Lab, investigating equity and accessibility in urban transit for disabled communities.
