Shernell Hines
Shernell Hines is a Ph.D. student specializing in Health Psychology and completing a collaborative specialization in Women’s Health at the University of Toronto. Her doctoral research examines the often-discounted role that emotions and self-concept play in maintaining health and preventing the onset of disease. She is interested in women’s mental health, well-being, and the motivations to engage in and maintain physical activity. Her research also investigates the relationships between physiological signals and their psychological correlates using non-invasive methodologies such as ECG (electrocardiogram) and EDA (Electrodermal activity) to investigate psychological phenomena and develop therapeutic interventions.
