Sofia is an undergraduate psychology student at the University of Toronto. As the daughter of a Korean immigrant couple, raised in Italy before moving to Canada, she has navigated multiple cultural environments and social norms throughout her life. These experiences shape her research interests in impression management, identity coherence, and the cognitive and emotional effort involved in presenting oneself differently across contexts. She is particularly interested in how bilingualism and heritage‑language proficiency influence self‑presentation and social experiences within cultural communities, and how these identity‑related pressures affect mental health
