Sonia Grandi

Dr. Sonia Grandi is a Research Scientist in the Child Evaluative Sciences Program at the Research Institute of the Hospital for Sick Children and an Assistant Professor in the Division of Epidemiology at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Her research focuses on improving maternal and child health across the life course. She studies the long-term health impacts of adverse pregnancy outcomes and aims to advance the early identification and management of high-risk women in the postpartum period. Dr. Grandi’s work also aims to evaluate the safety of medication use during pregnancy, with a particular focus on cardiometabolic and immune-mediated conditions. As a methodologist, she applies contemporary methods in causal inference and leverages large-scale population-based health data to generate evidence that informs clinical practice and policy. A central pillar of her research is the integration of women’s lived experiences, ensuring that patient perspectives meaningfully shape study design, interpretation, and impact.
