Dr. Lori Brotto Receives C2 Award for Groundbreaking Menopause Care Research

Dr. Lori Brotto, executive director of the Women’s Health Research Institute, professor at UBC and Canada Research Chair in Women’s Sexual Health, has been awarded a prestigious C2 award from Health Research BC. Her project will shape the future of menopause care and healthy aging for women in British Columbia and across the world.

Dr. Brotto’s project will establish a collaborative “Research Agenda for Menopause and Midlife Women’s Health,” bringing together researchers, healthcare providers, and individuals with lived experience. By engaging experts across nursing, medicine, psychology, and social sciences, alongside people with lived experience, the project will create actionable pathways to improve care and outcomes for midlife women. This initiative addresses critical gaps in menopause care by fostering trauma-informed, patient-centered solutions and paving the way for a Centre of Excellence in menopause research and clinical care.

Dr. Brotto’s leadership exemplifies the transformative impact of interdisciplinary collaboration in women’s health. Learn more about this initiative at the Women’s Health Research Institute: womenshealthresearch.ca.
