Happy Ever After? How Marriage Impacts Our Health and Happiness
On Friday, October 25th, we had our first public event at UBC Robson Square with Four researchers in sociology, economics, creative writing, and philosophy at the UBC Faculty of Arts to discuss the questions that are on everyone’s mind. Who has it better, married or single people? Does marriage still have significance in our culture? Is marriage an unfair privilege for monogamous couples only?
Dr. Marina Adshade, Mandy Len Catron, Dr. Yue Qian, and Dr. Carrie Jenkins drew on years of inter-disciplinary research to answer these questions.
The event, which was presented by the Women’s Health Research Cluster and UBC Faculty of Arts included Four brief talks followed by a panel discussion and a networking reception.
