Agnieszka Razim

Dr. Agnieszka Razim is an Assistant Professor at the Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences, Laboratory of Microbiome Immunobiology. Her scientific interests focus on the immunomodulatory properties of bacterial extracellular vesicles and their role in host–microbiome interactions, allergy, and vaccine development.

She earned her PhD in Biology from the Hirszfeld Institute in 2020 and was awarded a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship at the Medical University of Vienna (2022–2024). Dr. Razim is currently the Principal Investigator of a SONATA grant funded by the National Science Centre, exploring how undernutrition affects the microbiome through bacterial extracellular vesicles.

In addition to her academic work, Dr. Razim is the co-founder and COO of Micronose, a biotech startup developing microbiome-inspired solutions for health. Her achievements have been recognized with the START Scholarship from the Foundation for Polish Science and as a finalist of the 2025 Polityka Science Award.

She has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications and is actively involved in international collaborations, science communication, and mentoring. Passionate about promoting women in science, Dr. Razim combines her multinational research experience with an entrepreneurial vision to bridge the gap between fundamental microbiome research and practical biotechnology applications.
