Anais Mergen

I am an undergraduate student in the final year of my BSc. in Kinesiology at McGill University. I am currently a research volunteer in the Cardiovascular Health and Autonomic Regulation Laboratory (CHARLab), where I help conduct research on how perimenopausal women’s sympathetic nervous system responds to stress and its implications on cardiovascular health. I work closely with Ph.D. candidate, Jinan Saboune and her team, specifically helping run the necessary software during tests and the data analysis process. In addition to participating in CHARLab, I sit as the VP Education at the McGill chapter of the broader, student-led Canadian organization, Sex and Self. I work towards providing sexual and reproductive health education to the McGill community and the Montreal area through educational workshops and promotional
collaborations with other university initiatives. I am deeply passionate about advocating for intersectional and equitable healthcare practices, specifically for women and communities of marginalized individuals, and value the need to offer comprehensive health education within our society.
