Eden Hoffer is a PhD candidate in the Faculty of Information and Media Studies (FIMS) and the Faculty of Health Sciences at Western University. Her research explores how mothers who are intimate partner violence survivors navigate social systems and institutions – including the Canadian healthcare system. With an M.A. in Criminology and Social Justice, Eden’s interdisciplinary research is policy-driven, aiming to inform best practices for supporting intimate partner violence survivors through holistic, trauma- and violence-informed care responses. Through her work, she seeks to enhance the effectiveness of social systems and institutions in providing meaningful and comprehensive support to women who are experiencing or have experienced violence.
