Hala is an undergraduate student in the Faculty of Science at the University of Calgary with a strong research focus on women’s health. Her work explores reproductive and maternal health across the lifespan, including projects on placental biology, postpartum weight retention, and the use of menstrual blood as a novel biospecimen for research. Through these projects, she is particularly interested in improving the understanding, accessibility, and inclusivity of research methods in women’s health. Hala was awarded a Program for Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE) award to support her independent research.
