Halle Deakin
Halle Deakin is an MSc student in Community Health Sciences at the Cumming School of Medicine, with a focus on Epidemiology. She completed her Honours Bachelor of Medical Sciences at Western University, specializing in Biochemistry and the Pathology of Human Disease. During her undergraduate studies, her thesis and summer research projects concentrated on biochemistry, including protein work, exploring novel chemical techniques and microscopy.
Building on this scientific foundation, Halle is now applying her critical thinking and science communication skills to patient-oriented research. Her MSc thesis explores the engagement of the PCOS Patient Advisory Committee, aiming to provide insights into how people with lived experience of PCOS and researchers can collaborate to enhance understanding of the condition.
