Hey there! My name is Marlen, and I’m currently doing research in Toronto, using spatial transcriptomics technologies. I enjoy the challenge of extracting meaning from complex datasets, and I’m always eager to discover novel technologies. This year so far, I have focused on the vulnerability of the maternal brain towards neuropsychiatric disorders. Understanding the brain and its dynamics is a question I have thought about since my IB diploma studies. I got to explore this further through my Bachelor’s level studies in Biomedicine at Karolinska Institutet, which led me to discover neuroscience within Sweden, in Europe, and beyond! I am very passionate about science communication and knowledge sharing; I like to say that new findings become exciting only once you get your story right.
