Oluwaseun Amoo
Oluwaseun Amoo holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree from the prestigious University of Ibadan, Nigeria. Their academic and professional journey has focused on leveraging innovative technologies and project management strategies to address critical challenges in disease surveillance and response. For instance, as Site Clinical Project Coordinator at the African Center of Excellence for Genomics of Infectious Diseases (ACEGID), Oluwaseun directed and optimized genomic infectious disease projects, supervised the development of a mobile application for data collection, and facilitated multi-site project expansions.
Oluwaseun’s research interest lies in evaluating the integration of artificial intelligence in public health surveillance systems to improve early detection and response to infectious diseases in West Africa.
Oluwaseun’s experience managing HIV/AIDS intervention programs at iCARE Nigeria, in partnership with Northwestern University and Lurie Children’s Hospital, USA, has equipped them with the skills to handle complex public health projects. They managed operational and logistical aspects across multiple sites, supervised clinical trials, and oversaw the creation of bi-directional messaging platforms (Commcare, Dimagi) to increase patient adherence and viral suppression. These experiences have honed their ability to design and implement effective health promotion strategies and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
