Celine Camon
Celine is a final year PhD Candidate in the Centre for Neuroendocrinology at the University of Otago, New Zealand. She completed her BSc (Hons) in physiology while in Ireland and is currently undertaking a laboratory exchange at UCLA in Los Angeles. Celine research interests are around understanding how estrogen treatment, specifically estrogen’s signaling effects in the brain, can regulate protective effects against metabolic dysfunction during menopause. She is extremely passionate about developing an understanding of menopause, both from a physiological perspective but also from documenting people’s experiences of this transition from across the globe. Her ultimate goal is to improve the current treatment options available for menopausal symptoms and how we approach this hormonal transition. Celine’s research interests more broadly include the physiology of female ageing, sex hormone signaling and reproductive neuroendocrinology.
