I am a second-year Ph.D. candidate in the Biomedical Engineering department at the University of Delaware, specializing in quantifying brain mechanics with magnetic resonance elastography (MRE), a noninvasive imaging technique. My research focuses on the relationship between mechanical properties of the brain and neurobiological processes. Currently, we are investigating how hormonal loss influences brain mechanical properties in a female rat menopause model. This work provides valuable insights into the mechanobiology of the female brain, contributing to advancements in understanding cognitive function and improving research on neurodegenerative diseases and women’s health.
