Sanja Terzic
Professor Dr. Sanja Terzic is a physician, academic educator, and clinical researcher with expertise in family medicine, occupational health, women’s health, and medical education. She is an Assistant Professor at the School of Medicine, Nazarbayev University, where she plays a key role in undergraduate and postgraduate medical education, residency training, and curriculum development in alignment with ACGME-I and WFME standards.
Her academic and clinical work focuses on preventive medicine, women’s health across the life course, menopause and aging, occupational health, quality of life, and health outcomes research. She has a strong interest in integrating evidence-based medicine, clinical epidemiology, and patient-centered approaches into both clinical care and medical education. Her scholarly activity also includes educational research, with particular emphasis on competency-based training, programmatic assessment, learner evaluation, and faculty development.
Professor Terzic has extensive experience in leading and managing educational programs, including serving as Family Medicine Residency Lead and Family Medicine Clerkship Lead. She has played a central role in international accreditation processes and quality assurance activities at Nazarbayev University School of Medicine, contributing to the successful achievement of full international accreditation.
Her research portfolio includes principal investigator and co-investigator roles in national and international clinical studies, with a strong publication record in peer-reviewed journals. She is actively engaged in mentoring medical students and residents in research methodology, scholarly writing, and professional development.
Professor Terzic’s work is guided by a commitment to advancing women’s health, promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and strengthening the integration of clinical care, education, and research to improve patient outcomes and healthcare systems.
